The historic structure has been known by the same name, Posada del Peine, since it was founded in 1610. Looking back from the 21st century on nearly 400 years of history, the hotel is the oldest in Madrid. Famous throughout its existence, distinguished names were staying at the Posada del Peine right up until 1970 when the hotel closed its doors. Reopened on 15 September 2004, the building’s attractive, original exterior now contrasts elegantly with the sleek, modern interiors, the chic, comfortable accommodation and the state-of-the-art facilities and technology. Historic 17th century charm, sleek contemporary style, modern comforts and facilities and a superb location are all united in the Posada del Peine.

A buffet breakfast is available daily from 07:30 to 10:30. The lobby bar is open from 12:00 to 22:00 and offers refreshing juices, teas and coffee.

Area information

The hotel is located in the Mayor Square. You will need no means of transportation to visit the most important places of Madrid, such as “Puerta del Sol”, The Royal Palace, Prado Museum… A few meters away from the hotel you can take a tourist bus that will explain you the most important monuments and streets of Madrid (paying service independent from the hotel, you can book it asking our reception staff) Our friendly staff will be more than happy to advise you on the best restaurants, flamenco shows, shopping zones and local excursions.

By Air: The hotel is approximately 15 km from Madrid Barajas International Airport and taxis are readily available from just outside the airport. By Metro: The nearest Metro station is Sol, which is just a short walk from the hotel. By Bus: Buses run regularly from all over the city to Puerta del Sol, which is just 50 metres from the hotel: By Car (from Madrid Barajas International Airport): - Head towards the city, following signs for Madrid (for 1.4 km). - At the roundabout, take the 1st exit and continue along the M-11 motorway (for 8.5 km). - Take the exit for Chamartin Station. - Turn right onto the A1 (for 0.1 km). - Take Avenida de la Paz (for 0.3 km). - Take the M-30 towards Zaragoza (for 7.5 km). - Take exit 7 for Vicalvaro, Avda Marqués de Cabrera and Calle O´Donnell. - Head towards Calle O´Donnell. - Take Calle O´Donnell (for 0.1 km) until you get to Calle Alcalá where you turn left by Calle Sevilla, taking Plaza Canalejas. - Take Calle De la Cruz, then Plaza Jacinto Benavente and Calle Atocha and finally you will arrive at the public car park.
