Area information
The town of Bozen is situated in the heart of the Alps, embedded in a circle of mighty mountains. For this reason it is a particularly suitable starting point for many hiking routes.
In Bozen's old town centre one shop window follows the next one – the Laubengasse is like a shopping paradise. Fashion items, clothing, shoes, leather accessories, Loden items, exclusive traditional costume wear and fashionable woollen cloths, Italian design, household articles and furniture, wood carving object from Gardena Valley and other local craft products attract many customers.
Travel information
By Car (from the South - Verona / Trento, or from the North - Brennero):
- After leaving the motorway exit drive towards Gries.
- At the 1st roundabout take the exit for Romstraße and at the 2nd roundabout take the Rombrücke exit.
- Drive straight on to Italien-Allee.
- When you reach the 5th set of traffic lights turn left from Mazziniplatz into Freiheitsstraße.
- At the end of Freiheitsstraße, on the left-hand side, is the hotel.
From Meran:
- After leaving the MEBO (Meran-Bozen motorway) take the Eppan-Kaltern exit.
- Drive towards Bozen / Krankenhaus (hospital) and then turn left into Meraner Straße.
- At the following set of traffic lights turn right into Lorenz-Böhler-Straße and then drive straight on past the hospital.
- Drive along Vittorio-Veneto-Straße until Grieser Platz; Hotel Post is situated on the right-hand side of Grieser Platz.
Parking:
Hotel Post is situated in Grieser Square at the end of Freiheit Street. Secure parking is available in the hotel’s underground car park that is very close to the hotel.
Parking in the municipal area is only allowed for Bozen's inhabitants with a parking permit; these car parks are marked in white. Visitors are allowed to park their cars in blue car parks - subject to a charge (get your ticket at the car park ticket machine) - or in multi-storey car parks only. The multi-storey car parks opposite the railway station or at Walther Square are situated right in the town centre; the multi-storey car park called Bozen-Mitte in Schlachthof Street behind the railway station building is the best value one.
From the Railway Station:
- By taxi it takes about 7 minutes to get to the hotel.
- By bus you can get your ticket at a tobacconist's at the railway station.
- Take bus 10A until the end of Freiheitsstraße towards Grieserplatz.
From Bozen Airport:
- From the airport you can take a taxi to the hotel; the journey time is about 10 minutes.
