Ideally located on the eastern side of Rittenhouse Square, the gem of the five open space parks planned for the city by William Penn during the late 17th century, one can cross over Walnut street and head into the park for an afternoon of reading or sunbathing, taking a break for an espresso or coffee at the trendy café La Colombe, or heading east, take a walk to Broad street and the Rafael Vinoly–designed Kimmel center for the performing arts, home to the outstanding Philadelphia Orchestra.
