The history of NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky began in 1866 when it was a small bar owned by Mr Krasnapolsky. His decision to create a few rooms on-site blossomed into a full-scale expansion and resulted in the creation of this unique and grand complex. Both leisure and business travellers can discover everything they require under one roof in this landmark hotel. The 22 board and banquet rooms can accommodate up to 2000 people for both business and social events. After meetings and sight-seeing, the state-of-the-art beauty centre and fitness room are just the cure and provide necessary relaxation in this bustling and exciting city. The hotel offers a Summer Garden and a monumental Winter Garden where you can enjoy an extensive breakfast buffet in the morning. In a-la-carte restaurant Reflet you can enjoy assorted French oriented dishes in belle époque style. For fans of the oriental cuisine, restaurant Shilbli Bedouin is an excellent choice. The Wynand Fockink Distillery, dating back to 1679, where you can taste and buy Jenevers and liqueurs, is the eldest distillery in Amsterdam. The Lounge offers connoisseurs its house tea selection, liqueurs and a royal view of the Dam. The Golden Palm Bar offers assorted top-class cocktails. The hotel is located in the heart of Amsterdam’s characteristic old centre. Trend-setting shopping streets are just around the corner, just as the many cultural gems such as the Royal Palace, Beurs van Berlage and the Oude Kerk. Other attractions nearby are Madame Tussauds, the Anne Frank Museum, Van Gogh Museum and the Red Light District. Anne Frank Museum (1.8km) - The former hiding place, where Anne Frank wrote her diary, is now a well known museum. The museum tells the history of the eight people in hiding and those who helped them during the war. Anne Frank's diary is among the original objects on display. Royal Palace (0.2km) - The Dutch Royal House is the House of Orange-Nassau. Since the 15th century, the fortunes of this House have been closely tied to those of the Netherlands. Since that time, the Oranges have made a major contribution to the government as viceroys, kings and queens. Van Gogh Museum (3.8km) Heineken Brewery (2.8km) Vondelpark (4.3km) Leidse Square (2.7km) Trams to Central Station and other connecting lines can be caught directly across from the hotel. Between 05:00 and 20:00h shuttle bus Connexxion follows a 30-minutes time-table from Schiphol to the hotel. A one-way ticket is available for approximately EUR 11.50. |
